,When Desire Becomes Radiance

There is a kind of glow that doesn’t come from makeup, lighting, or even happiness.

It comes from aliveness.

Desire — true desire — is not grasping.

It is not performance.

It is not something that needs to be acted on.

It is life force moving through the body.

And when that current is allowed — without shame, without suppression, without urgency — it becomes light.

For many women, especially as we mature, desire is expected to quiet.

Be appropriate.

Be spiritual.

Be invisible.

But spirituality is not the absence of desire.

It is the capacity to hold it.

Desire begins in the sacral — warm, electric, pulsing.

If the nervous system feels safe, that charge rises.

It touches the heart.

It becomes radiance.

When the body cannot hold charge, desire becomes impulse.

When the body can hold charge, desire becomes glow.

Years ago in Rome, I stood before Bernini’s Ecstasy of Saint Teresa.

Her head tilted back.

Her body softened.

A golden arrow suspended in marble stillness.

Some call it devotion.

Some call it erotic.

I call it embodied surrender to life force.

The arrow is not about fantasy.

It is about capacity.

The body saying yes to energy without collapsing under it.

Recently, I had a moment that surprised me.

I noticed a man doing pull-ups — strong back, grounded presence.

Something in my body lit up.

Warm.

Electric.

Alive.

I didn’t need to speak to him.

I didn’t need a story.

I didn’t need an outcome.

I simply felt it.

And I allowed it.

Later, a friend asked if I had been on a date.

She said I looked luminous.

Nothing had happened.

Except this:

I let desire move.

Desire is not about chasing someone.

It is about remembering yourself.

It is circulation.

It is vitality.

It is the nervous system strong enough to hold charge without discharging it.

In the Breathe Feelā„¢ process, we do not suppress sensation.

We feel it first.

We let the body complete the current safely.

And when the current completes, it doesn’t burn you.

It illuminates you.

There is a glow that comes when sacral energy meets the heart.

Not frantic.

Not hungry.

Not proving anything.

Just alive.

And sometimes the most sacred thing you can do…

is feel the warmth in your belly

and smile.

If this speaks to something in you…

If you’re ready to feel without collapsing, suppressing, or performing…

I invite you to schedule a private Breathe Feelā„¢ session with me.

Together, we create the safety your nervous system needs

so desire becomes radiance,

emotion becomes integration,

and your life force moves freely again.
